Education Transport
Assisting partners involved in the planning and delivery of travel to access education, to respond to the challenges posed by legislative changes and encourage more sustainable learner travel behaviour
We provide:
- Education transport policy reviews to respond to the changing educational context
- Reviews of operational practice in the provision of statutory and discretionary home to school transport
- Quantitative and qualitative survey techniques to understand and respond to the ‘learner voice’
- Practical assistance in responding to the travel implications of the new 14-19 agenda
Recent projects include:
14-19 Transport Coordination
- Providing in-house consultancy support to Nottinghamshire County Council on a two / three day per week basis
- Benchmarking current travel arrangements to 14-19 education provision and identifying gaps
- Identifying and implementing solutions to improve access to educational opportunities, particularly the new diplomas, for young people across the County
Review of Home to School Walking Routes in Nottinghamshire
- Undertaking a road safety assessment for Nottinghamshire County Council of potential home to school walking routes which were previously deemed 'unavailable'
- Walking the routes and recording road safety observations in accordance with LARSOA (Local Authority Road Safety Officers Association) Guidelines
- Providing an independent assessment of the future availability of previously 'unavailable' routes
