Preparing successful funding bids on behalf of our clients to secure financial support from regional, national and European sources. STAR provides technical advice and support to enable our clients to design and deliver tailored local transport projects on time and to budget.
We are able to offer assistance in:
- Preparing bids for transport funding on behalf of UK local authorities
- Providing project management services to UK local authorities to assist them to implement funded schemes, such as Local Sustainable Transport Fund (LSTF) and 'Supporting Community Transport' schemes
- Preparing proposals to fund EU transport research and demonstration projects and secure regional structural funding
- Project managing EU-funded transport research and demonstration projects under contract to UK local authorities
Recent projects include:
Total Transport Nottinghamshire
- Drafted the successful funding bid to the Department for Transport
- Appointed Project Manager of the £300,000 Nottinghamshire pilot project
- Investigating feasibility of integrating local authority transport with that of other partners
- Developing pilot projects to demonstrate practical and financial benefits of a more integrated approach to transport provision
- Undertaking scoping studies to analyse the potential for integrating local authority and Non-Emergency Patient Transport services
Minibuses for Rural Areas
- STAR ensured that one minibus operator in rural Leicestershire did not miss out on a new minibus from the Department for Transport's £25m fund
- STAR prepared the bid for funding, in full consultation with the operator
- Bid prepared on a 'no win, no fee' basis
Bid Preparation for CT Operator
- Preparing a range of funding bids on behalf of an East Midlands CT operator
- Bids range from vehicle purchase to staff time and marketing efforts
- Bids prepared on a 'no win, no fee' basis
Sustainable Travel City Bid
- Preparing a Sustainable Travel City bid of £15m on behalf of Nottingham City Council which was shortlisted for funding
- Undertaking professional stakeholder consultation and leading a group discussion with interested parties to assist in refining the bid
- Developing a comprehensive, tightly focused and succinct bidding document
Access Alliance Programme
- Acting as Managing Agent for 4 years of this £1.1m scheme funded by East Midlands Development Agency to stimulate the development of sustainable transport schemes
- Commissioning, funding and monitoring of 60 sustainable transport schemes to link residents with employment and training opportunities
- Delivering a series of project outputs including economic outputs, improving social inclusion, improving social cohesion, creating modal shift in favour of greener modes, reduction in carbon footprints, greater partnership working and greater local community engagement
